- My guess is dirty key contacts. I'd dismantle the keyboard, taking care
- not to lose the 20 or 30 little screws. Wipe the membrane with pure
- alcohol using a lint-free cloth. The right stuff is isopropyl alcohol
- which you can get from a pharmacist. It leaves no residue. Do NOT use
- meths or "rubbing alcohol", and keep fingerprints off the contacts. Very
- gently dab the (conducting) rubber pads under the keys also. I'd think
- that "no-residue" contact cleaner might be ok, but use it at your own
- risk. This treatment usually works unless the pads are ruined. If they
- are, try swapping a pad with one you don't use (top right on keypad?).
-
- This is entirely at your own risk. I've done it a number of times on an
- A4000 and also an A500, and a CBM64 before that. But the slightest trace
- of dirt or grease can make matters worse. You could also look around for
- a keyboard from a wrecked computer, and take keypads from that.
